Call for Speakers and Moderators! Present at the 2019 DCMAND Annual Meeting

We are looking for dynamic professionals to share their expertise with our members at the 2019 DCMAND Annual Meeting. We are looking for panelists, sessions, keynote speakers, and moderators. Please submit your application to be a speaker or moderator to the DCMAND Professional Development Committee Chair at by January 18, 2019. Notifications of acceptance will be made by February 1, 2019. You must be able to present anytime between 9:00am-4:30pm on April 12, 2019 at the American University Washington College of Law in Washington, DC.

Meeting Title –  Creating Conscious Consumers: How to teach strategies of intuitive eating to clients and encourage them to be mindful of where our food comes from and how it is grown and processed

Meeting Themes

  • How to employ intuitive eating principles in practice (including HAES, baby led weaning, disordered eating patterns, etc.)

  • The science/practice behind how our food is grown and produced (including GMOs, organic vs. conventional, supply chains, food marketing, etc.)

Speakers Requirements

  • Must have a strong, demonstrated lecturing experience, practice area or research expertise noted in the submission.

  • State, regional, and/or national speaking experience is recommended.

  • Highly established experts in their field — recently published, presented, and/or possessing of extensive practitioner knowledge in a specialized subject area.

  • Must present for 15 to 45 minutes (depending on the session type for which you are applying) to be eligible for speaker benefits.

  • A maximum of four speakers are allowed for a 90-minute session.

Session Review

Proposals will be reviewed based on:

  • Appropriateness of Topic

  • Level of Content Science or Evidence-based

  • Cutting-edge Information that has not been Previously Presented

  • Comprehensiveness of Session Objectives

  • Expertise of Proposed Speakers

  • Speaker Selection Related to Experience and Topics

  • Essential Practice Information

Call for Student Posters! Present at the 2019 DCMAND Annual Meeting

DCMAND is now accepting abstracts from all undergraduate and graduate students and dietetic interns for the Student Poster Session at the 2019 DCMAND Annual Meeting that will be held on April 12, 2019 at American University College of Law in Washington, DC.

This year’s abstract categories are Research, Case Report and Project / Program. More information on the specific requirements and how to submit an abstract can be found in the 2019 DCMAND Student Poster Session Guidelines. Abstracts will be accepted until March 1, 2019. First and second poster authors will receive discounted registration to the 2019 Annual Meeting and all accepted winners must be able to set up and present the day of the meeting.

Submit all abstracts and questions to the DCMAND Student Representative at
